Style of architecture Neo-gothic , First mentioned in 1743

The castle built by Arnošt František of Vrtba was first mentioned in 1743. In the middle of the 19th century, the Vratislavs of Mitrovice had it rebuilt in Neo-Gothic style, especially the arcades with pointed arches. In 1948 it was confiscated from the Langhamers, now it has been returned to their descendants.

As early as the beginning of the 14th century, a still partially preserved Gothic fortress was built in the northern part of the village. The owners lived there until the 17th century. After 1737, Arnošt František of Vrtba had a new chateau built near the fortress, first mentioned in 1743. In 1830, František Josef Vratislav of Mitrovice added the northern wing and in 1857 his sons František Josef and Josef František rebuilt the entire building in Neo-Gothic style. In 1872 Bedřich Belelgarde bought the castle from the indebted František Josef, and a year later Mořic Sternhauss bought it. The last owners were the Langhamers from Bílina, who confiscated it in 1948. The local national committee set up apartments in it, and the municipal library was also housed there. Without proper maintenance, the building gradually fell into disrepair, so it is not surprising that the heritage institutions included it on the list of endangered monuments. The castle was then returned to the Langhamer descendants.

The south wing is a rectangular storey with a mansard roof and lysene corners. There were four smaller rooms on the ground floor on the sides of the entrance hall. The seven consecutive rooms of the north wing were accessed from an arcaded corridor along the eastern flank. To the north and east of the castle are the remains of the castle gardens, which are still in ruins, with the ruins of the rectangular garden pavilion still standing against the eastern wall.
