Today, most people approach wedding with the firm conviction that on that day they will forever link their fate with the person they love. Engaged couples pay a lot of attention to the choice of venue - after all, the first day of their life together', although nowadays in a rather figurative sense, will be a memory for a lifetime.

In 1720 František Adam Trauttmansdorff commissioned the well-known Czech architect F. M. Kaňka to build a castle that would correspond to his position as a leading nobleman. The castle is a typical noble residence of the High Baroque period and its decoration was done by leading artists such as M. B. Braun, V. V. Reiner or F. A. Scheffler. Since 1868 the castle has been associated with the Sternberg family. The current owner, Jiří Sternberg, has restored the monument and opened it to the public.
